Portraying the streets of a London square in a bygone era, Christmas Past is full of details for the eye to peruse.

The book store below, with its inviting chairs; the upstairs apartment, lit by the glow of a Christmas tree. The bakery/wine shop on the other side of the square, with fresh items seen through the windows; and upstairs, the stockings hung from the mantle in the hopes that... it is Christmas time, after all.

Beyond, the eye travels to the end of the street, where an older Tudor-style structure still stands, with its windows glowing warmly upon the winter quiet outside.

Christmas Past is in a private collection.
